“Inspiration without innovation is not good enough anymore,” said will.i.am.  “We need to have a clear vision for the future and then we need to transform that future.  We transform the future by transforming communities and making the lives of people better.”

The i.am angel foundation was created to transform lives through education, inspiration and opportunity. The foundation was launched in 2009 around the idea of providing assistance to needy students wanting to attend college through its scholarship program. The foundation has grown to include additional programs such as i.am home to provide mortgage relief & financial literacy assistance and i.am First to promote science and mathematical skills for students.  Throughout that time they have collaborated with an amazing group of allied and partner organizations to help administer these ambitious programs including: College Track, the California Endowment, NASA Educational outreach initiatives, U.S. FIRST and others.

The foundations most recent venture brings all of their partners together to create the i.am boyle heights center, dedicated to transforming the greater community in East Los Angeles. The center will offer wide-ranging programs so that young people are provided with educational resources needed to graduate from high school and pursue a college degree, learn marketable and employable skills in the arts and digital media, and are guided towards the careers of tomorrow in science, technology engineering and mathematics. Each component of the i.am boyle heights center will be designed to educate, enlighten and inspire members of the community to be proud to say "i.am boyle heights".
